Herbal Consultations

IN-PERSON IN JUPITER, FL · ONLINE VIA ZOOM

Find a way forward in relationship with the plants.

Your health, your emotional life, and the circumstances you are moving through are part of the same story. In a consultation, we take time to understand that story and explore how herbs, flower essences, and supportive practices can meet you where you are.

I bring together clinical herbal medicine, flower essence therapy, and a relational approach to the living world to develop a course of support shaped around your individual constitution, concerns, and life.

Your health is part of a larger story. Our work begins by understanding the whole of you.

Begin with what is happening in your life.

Perhaps you are dealing with a physical concern that has been difficult to resolve. Your energy has changed, your digestion is unsettled, sleep is elusive, or you are navigating hormonal changes. Perhaps grief, stress, or a significant life transition is affecting how you feel in your body and how you move through the world.

You may have a clear sense of what you want support with, or you may know that something needs attention without quite knowing where to begin.

We start there.

I want to understand what is happening in your body, what has been unfolding in your life, and what you have already tried. Together, we look at the patterns, consider what kind of support may be useful, and develop a way of working that takes your whole experience into account.

HOW A CONSULTATION UNFOLDS

We begin with your story.

Drawing on Western herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), herbal energetics, and flower essence therapy, I consider your individual constitution and the patterns that may be contributing to your concerns.

From there, I develop a personalized herbal protocol and suggest practices suited to your needs. Depending on what emerges in our conversation, flower essences may also be part of your work.

The plants are central to this process. I approach herbs as living beings with distinct qualities and ways of meeting the world. Learning which plants are suited to a particular person involves both clinical understanding and a relationship with the plants themselves.

We stay attentive to what unfolds.

Our work continues through observation, conversation, and refinement. We pay attention to how you are responding, what is changing, and what may need a different kind of support.

As you become more familiar with the plants in your protocol, you also develop your own relationship with them. This is part of what makes herbal practice a living, ongoing relationship rather than simply following a set of recommendations.

The dimensions of the work

Clinical herbal medicine

Your herbal protocol is developed around your constitution, health history, current concerns, and individual patterns. I draw from Western herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and herbal energetics to select plants and preparations appropriate to your circumstances.

We consider how herbs may support digestion, sleep, energy, hormonal health, stress, and other aspects of physical wellbeing. Your protocol is accompanied by guidance on how to work with the plants and incorporate them into your daily life.

Flower Essence Therapy

Flower essences bring another dimension to the work, supporting awareness of emotional patterns, transitions, and the inner experiences that shape how you move through life.

Each flower carries a distinctive quality. In working with an essence, we explore the qualities it may invite you to notice and cultivate in yourself.

Walnut (Juglans regia) may be considered during periods of transition, when you are finding your way into a new chapter. Mimulus (Mimulus guttatus) is associated with known fears and the courage to meet them. Wild Oat (Bromus ramosus) may be relevant when you are discerning your direction and what feels meaningful to pursue.

Flower essences can become a gentle, consistent practice of attention, helping you notice your inner experience and the possibilities emerging within it.

Shamanic Guidance

Shamanic practice is also part of my work. At times, a concern or life transition invites a deeper exploration through journeying and other shamanic practices.

This may involve working with grief, significant change, disconnection from inner knowing, or experiences that continue to shape how you understand yourself and your place in the world.

Shamanic work is considered individually and introduced through conversation. It is a dimension of my integrated practice, available when it is appropriate to the person and the work we are doing together.

What this work can open up

In the early weeks, you may begin to feel more like yourself. A quality of presence returns. You find yourself more available to your own life, to the people you love, and to the moments that make up your days. Sleep may improve, constant stress may begin to ease, and you may notice a growing desire to spend time outside, pay attention to the plants, and experience the living world around you more fully.

Something meaningful can also happen in the simple practices themselves. Preparing an herbal tea, taking your flower essence, or pausing to spend a few moments in conscious attention becomes a way of making time for yourself. For many people, this is the first time in years they have established a consistent practice of care and attention to their own wellbeing.

As the months unfold, the work can deepen. You may notice changes in the physical concerns that first brought you to a consultation, alongside a greater awareness of the emotional patterns and experiences connected to them. Clients often describe feeling more at home in themselves, reconnecting with qualities they thought they had lost, and finding a new sense of possibility in their lives.

For those who enter the shamanic dimension of the work, the experience can reach even deeper. Clients describe a feeling of coming home to something essential, a renewed sense of wholeness, and greater clarity about who they are and how they want to live.

The direction and pace are different for everyone. What unfolds is your own.

We begin with what brought you here. I listen carefully, ask questions, and build a comprehensive picture of your health history, constitution, current concerns, and life circumstances.

When appropriate, we may work with a flower essence during the session, exploring its qualities through direct experience. In-person sessions may also include sound.

Following your consultation, I prepare an individualized protocol. Within a few days, you receive a detailed email outlining your recommended herbs, flower essences, and supportive practices, with guidance on how to work with them.

You source your herbs locally or online. I prepare your personalized flower essence formula and ship it to you.

The frequency of follow-up sessions depends on your needs and the nature of the work. Some people benefit from a series of consultations; others prefer to reconnect periodically.

I believe the living world offers profound resources for our health, understanding, and everyday lives. My work brings together the clinical, the relational, and the spiritual dimensions of working with plants.

My own path has been shaped by years of clinical herbal practice, flower essence study, meditation, and shamanic training. Losing my mother taught me that health is the most important thing in life, second only to love. My herbal teachers taught me to look to the plants. My flower essence training taught me to listen to the qualities they carry. My shamanic mentors taught me to journey into the deeper dimensions of experience and relationship.

These influences live together in my practice. They inform how I listen, how I work with plants, and how I support people in finding their own way forward.

I am a Registered Herbalist (RH) with the American Herbalists Guild, a Flower Essence Practitioner, and an Advanced Shamanic Practitioner trained and mentored by Sandra Ingerman. I have been in clinical practice for over a decade.

This is how I practice, listen, and live.
